Who Gave You The Right?

--

A poem

Your snide remarks,

Like nails on a chalkboard.

Cheap plastic smiles,

In your own kangaroo court.

Mane of nails,

Voice jagged like rocks,

Insult after insult,

Low blows and hard knocks.

Sneaking up on me,

At my lowest,

Unbridled cruelty,

Lack of fidelity.

How bold you are,

Spewing words out of spite,

Just who are you,

And who gave you the right?

You don’t pay my debts,

You don’t wear my scars,

Send me empty threats,

Fake declarations of war.

I’m going to make a choice,

Find a better use for my time, Than fight with a faceless voice That speaks with no reason nor rhyme.
